St Peter’s Secondary School, Vandeikya

St Peter’s Secondary School, Vandeikya started as Jechira Community Secondary School in 1973 before it was handed over to a Catholic Diocese of Makurdi (now Diocese of Gboko) to become a Catholic Secondary School. St. Peter’s is an all-boy institution with boarding facilities. It operates both day and boarding systems. It offers Sciences as well as Art disciplines.

The school provides computer education for students in all classes (Jss1-Ss3) in order to keep pace with current trends in the information and communication technology (ICT), with well-equipped and functional computer, biology, chemistry, physics and introductory technology laboratories.

It is a special school that takes care of the physically challenged, (the blind and the deaf as well).

The school has over the years produced eminent people in all fields of life who are working in various fields of human endeavor within the country and across the globe. The school has current population of over six hundred students and staff strength of over fifty.

Student’s performances at WAEC/NECO are also very encouraging.

The management of the school has passed through the purposeful leadership of ten principals. The pioneer principal was Mr. John Iorvihi and the current principal is Revd. Fr. Linus Huabo.
